What to expect
A hike to the scenic mountain, considered by some to be the alpine summit of the Prealps. "Only once you appreciate the Gaisstein of an ascent, dear mountain friend, then you will open your eyes on the dashing ridges before the unexpected glory, romance and size of its cliffs!", Was already in the mountain friend in the 18th Century to read.
The Gaisstein is a little known but imposing lookout mountain, the north flank of which are formed by huge rock walls. This imposing view from a distance is due to the titles "Matterhorn of the Prealps" or "Matterhorn of the Waldgebirge".
